Time to come forward to contribute to preserve and promote our culture

Hon. Dr. Padma Ratna Tuladhar appealed to Newah brothers and sisters at home and abroad that it is time to come forward to contribute to preserve and promote our culture on our own. He said this at the felicitation programme held in his honour in Tokyo last month. “To the outside world, we are known to be prosperous. But our only school has to depend on Japanese aid and we have not been able to give education to our children in our own mother tongue, Nepal Bhasa despite we have won our constitutional right to receive education in our own mother tongue. The only archive that preserve our valuable manuscripts on our history and culture are being run with Japanese support. While showing our gratitude and felicitating those who helped us, it is also time for us to come forward to preserve and promote our culture ourselves, if we are proud of our nation” said the Human rights advocate leader and facilitator of Peace process of Nepal. 1. Jwajalapa!

Hon. Dr. Padma Ratna Tuladhar has spoken the truth.
As a Newah, I thanked our Japanase friends Azuma, Takaoka, who are helping us to save our valuable asset.

Actually, it is really shame on the government of Nepal and Newah community, who cannot save our valuable manuscripts of our history and culture by our own efforts. This shows members of Newah community are still not concious about their rich culture because of much suppression by the Khas rulers.

It is absolutely not surprising that the government is not helping to save the rich culture of Nepal because the government is run by the Khas people and they don’t value the rich culture of Newah (Nepal). Newah people should be concious to save their rich culture of Nepal( Newah). Our rich culture is also the wealth of the world.
