THE NEWAH HIGHLY COMMENDS THE RASTRA BANK’S DECISION TO PRINT BUDDHA’S BIRTHPLACE LUMBINI ON ITS NOTES;
URGE THE AUTHORITY TO INCLUDE NEPAL SAMVAT (Era) DATE, and REFRAIN FROM PRINTING BUDDHA’S IMAGE ON NOTES
Yen (Kathmandu), Nepal Mandala – Nepal Rastra Bank, the Central Bank of Nepal is learnt to have planned to print Buddha’s Birthplace, Lumbini on Nepal’s 100 Rupee notes soon to promote the Buddha’s Birth place and to counteract India’s claim that Lumbini lies inside India according to Solidaritykhabar online. The Bank will not be including any picture of Buddha because there are different pictures of the Buddha hence unable to decide which one to print. The news report also points out that the Central Bank of Nepal will be printing the issue dates in both (Indian) Bikram Samvat and Gregorian Era on the notes.
The Newah (the online news portel) expresss its gratitude to the Central Bank authority if the news is correct. The Newah humbly requests the Bank authority to refrain from printing any Buddha image on any notes as they can be misused even for gambling. Further, The Newah believes that the Bank authority are aware of the importance of printing its own Nepal Samvat (Era) year and date than any Indian Bikram Samvat or Gregorian date to print Nepal’s notes that the notes will be used in Nepal by its own citizens and foreigners visiting and living in this country. The Newah believe that the Central Bank of Nepal will act wisely by printing Nepal Era on the notes in their highly commendable decision to print Buddha’s Birthplace Lumbini.
The Newah also urge every respected friend whom it is concerned to remind, request and urge the Central Bank of Nepal to print Buddha’s Birthplace Lumbini on hundred rupee notes (and on any other notes) along with Nepal’s national calendar date, the Nepal Samvat, and refrain from printing Buddha’s image on the notes. www.thenewah.blogsome.com

भारतले गौतम बुद्ध आफ्नो देशमा जन्मिएको हल्ला गर्न कपिलबस्तु जस्तै भूमि निर्माण गरिहेको बेला बुद्धको जन्मस्थल लुम्बिनीको प्रचार गर्न तम्सिएको नेपाल राष्ट्र वैंकले अब नेपाली एक… सय रुपैयाँको नोटमा गौतम बुद्धको जन्मस्थल लुम्बिनी र अशोक स्तम्भ राख्ने भएको छ ।
गौतम बुद्ध नेपालकै हुन् भन्ने गतिलो प्रचार गर्न खोजेको राष्ट्रबैँकले अब सय रुपैयाँको नोटमा लेख्नेछ – लुम्बिनीः द बर्थ प्लेस अफ लर्ड बुद्ध ।’
गौतम बुद्ध नेपालमै जन्मिएका हुन भनेर प्रचार गर्न तम्मिएको नेपाल राष्ट्र वैंकले अब छाप्ने नोटमा यस्ता तस्वीर राख्न प्रस्ताव तयार पारि अर्थ मन्त्रालय पठाएको छ । अर्थले सो प्रस्तावलाई मन्त्रिपरिषद्मा लगेर स्वीकृति दिएपछि नोट छाप्ने काम सुरु हुने छ । लुम्बिनीका तस्वीर अंकित नोट बजारमा आउन ६ महिना लाग्ने छ ।
‘रुपैयाँ एक सय तुरुन्त पाइने छ’ भन्ने वाक्यको तल र गर्भनरको हस्ताक्षरको ठिक माथि हाल खाली रहेको स्थानमा अंग्रेजीमा लुम्बिनीः द बर्थ प्लेस अफ लर्ड बुद्ध ‘ लेख्न प्रस्ताव गरिएको राष्ट्र वैंक स्रोतले जनाएको छ । हाल तारादेवीको मूर्ति रहेको स्थानामा मायादेवीको मूर्ति र मन्दिर रहेको ठाउँमा अशोक स्तम्भ राख्न लागिएको छ ।
तर नोटमा गौतम बुद्धको तस्वीर भने राखिने छैन् । गौतम बुद्धको तस्वीर बिभिन्न आकारप्रकारका भएको र त्यसमा एकरुपता नभएकाले तस्वीर राख्न समस्या भएको बताइएको छ । अबदेखि कागजी नोटमा बिक्रम सम्बत र ईस्वी सम्वतमा निष्काशन मितिसमेत राखिने भएको छ । (ऐक्यबद्धता : www.solidaritykhabar.com)
